Our Mission

We're a little odd here at EcoBag Media–we fundamentally believe we shouldn't exist. So it is our mission to build a community of conscious consumers, who remember to bring their own bag when doing their shopping so we can phase ourselves out. We believe it's our ability to understand our connectedness to nature that will ultimately help us make better choices, because the things we buy, sell and consume have an incredible impact on the health of our planet.

Be Natural - Ensure that everything we do reminds us of our intrinsic connection to nature.

Be Impactful - Engage people in a way that inspires positive behavioural change

Act Collaboratively - Create strength through a collective voice that grows naturally and exponentially

Be Passionate - This stuff matters. Express ourselves fully and creatively

Operate with Integrity - Tell the truth and walk the talk

100% Recyclable - Unlike most plastic bags EcoBags are naturally biodegradable therefore 100% recyclable, meaning less waste to landfill.

Re-usable - The EcoBag has been designed to be used again and again. Fold one and pop in your handbag.

Water-Based Inks and Water-Soluble Adhesives – Water-based inks and glues are kinder to the environment, use fewer resources and have low levels of Volatile Organic Compounds that can be unhealthy to you and hazardous to the environment.

Our Paper - The EcoBag is manufactured using up to 70% recycled content with the rest made from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) accredited paper.
Case Study – Brazil

This initiative started six years ago in Sao Paulo, Brazil under the brand name BagNews. Sao Paulo is Brazil’s largest city with over 11 million inhabitants. The city council supported the idea to replace plastic bags with an environmentally friendly alternative. Today BagNews has flourished and is distributed in over 30 cities across the country.
